It has been a crazy couple of months. CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY! We put our house up for sale because "Issue" has gotten out of hand and Parker's stress level is through the roof and so is mine. The more stressed I am.....the more sick I am. So Ryan made the decision to get us out of here. And we would love the extra space. However....the sale of the house is not going well. We have dropped our price once and are thinking of doing it again. It is hard. So we have donw a lot of packing and storing and cleaning to make the house show ready. It is a stressful thing to sell a house.....when the market is this bad.
Back in April we took the kids to San Diego to Legoland, the Beach, visit Great Grandma Black. It was tons of fun. Who forgot to take their camera? Yeah...me. I was devestated. We bought 2 disposable cameras and I took a few with my phone.
Penny loved the sand at the beach. She was excited. Parker flew his kite and built a sand castle with his dad. We loved Legoland. We spent two days there. We did the acquarium there too. The rides are all geared toward smaller kids with the exception of 2 or 3. Parker and Ryan had a blast. Penny and I bonded just hanging out in the shade.
We went to a place in San Diego where there is a beach that sea lions have taken over...there were babies and mamas....oh it was so sweet. We even saw a red starfish on the rocks below.
We were able to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Black and Grandma's sister even came and had fun with the kids.
In May, Parker finished up his Gym class with a recital at the City Park. He did a great job. He loved it. We were very proud. He also graduated from preschool. He had to memorize a nursery rhyme and recite it at the graduation party. He did very well. His teacher said he is very ready for kindergarten and she is going to miss him.
At the end of May, my parents went to visit my brother and his family. Ryan , their son, was going through the temple for the first time and that Sunday was going to be his farewell. My dad got sick the day after they got there. It was bad enough that he was shaking and my brother took him to the doctor. He ended up in the emergency room because his blood pressure was so low. Long story short...he ended up in the hospital for 33 days. Mom came home on their scheduled flight. We took care of her and made sure her needs and the house needs were met. My dad's cellulitis had flared up and with the low low blood pressure..it was pretty serious. While in the hospital he contracted a strep infection on his legs. Huge puss filled blisters formed on his legs. They couldn't let him leave the hospital with that kind of infection. a total of 38 days away from home...we got him home the last week of June.
June...we were able to see Chelsea and Isabel and Elliot. We had lunch and went to Jumping Jacks.

Penny had a check up with her doctor and came out with flying colors. She is healthy and doing great. They are going to keep an eye on her pigeon toes. There really isn't anything thy can do until they are around 2 or 3 years old and by then it might correct itself. Penny gets funnier and funnier every day. She has the best little personality. She is better at entertaining herself and doesn't have to get into every drawer and cupboard and room and be a pill. She's becoming quite a lady.
July has been eventful. My niece came to vist along with her brother for the 4th weekend. We had a bbq and played games. The kids loved having Abbey and Tyler here. Also Ryan's sister and her family came from Japan for a visit. It was so good to see them. We went to the annual 4th of July picnic and fireworks show at Great Grandma Rowan's. The kids had a ball together. Parker was able to have a sleepover at Grandma's with his cousins Hayden, Danica, and Alyssa. And then they went to the Provo 4th of July Parade. He was in heaven. We also took the kids to the trout farm in Payson. It took forever to get a fish...but we ended up with 2 good sized fish. Ryan and I made fish tacos for dinner that night that we enjoyed with my parents.
Ryan and Parker went to Seven Peaks with his family. Of course had tons of fun. Penny and I stayed home...she was just going to run all over the place.
Ryan's sister Rachel went through the temple for her first time. I wasn't able to make it. The kids got really sick with fevers and sore throats and coughs and yucky noses. I was bummed...but my kids needed me. Ryan went and it was a special time for his family.
WE had to take Penny to the doctor...she had an ear infection .....two molars coming in....sever sore throat...poor thing. But she is doing much better.
Parker begins Kindergarten in about 5 weeks...it's crazy. My baby boy. He is also learning how to ride his bike without training wheels. That has been fun.
My health has been horrible. I have been very run down...forgetting things....falling down stairs....falling into walls. My doctor bumped up one of my meds but it didn't do much for me. He had me go see a neurologist. But he couldn't find anything wrong. He thinks it is just exhaustion. But I do have to have a.....I don't know what it is called....but they have to hook some nodes to my head and make sure there isn't some sort of damage to my brain. Wouldn't it be great to have a reason why I'm so whacky and forgetful and very mean sometimes? Rats...I'll probably be fine and then I'll have no excuse.
Life is good for the Rowan's. Still no bite on the house...but we are hopeful. We shall see. We need to be where we need to be.

WOW! You have been BUSY!! Sounds to me like the doc nailed it...you are exhausted. Good to read about and see new photos of those adorable kids. I love the one of Parker holding his little sisters hand and walking with her. It' looks like they're at a park. And those red, white and blue Sunday clothes...PRECIOUS. What little darlings. Take care Amy. I hope the house sells soon for you. Our daughter and her husband are having the very same issue. They put theirs up for sale months ago because of "circumstances". No luck selling yet.
Take care.

Oh and...we have had a neglected blog too. Too much gardening going on. FB is so much quicker and easier. So glad you got a blog post up so we could see those cute kids.
Thanks for the update!! It was great to see you guys as well. I'm glad the kids are feeling better and hope that your health improves soon as well. We'll be praying that the house sells soon!
