Pirate Island and the Owlz Game

I'm so lame when it comes to uploading pictures on blogger. I always do it in the wrong order....so yeah. This is what happens when it is hot and late in the day with a tired 4 year old who hates the mascots at the Owlz game. They were in the background so I was going to snap a shot with them and him without him having to go near them. Bad idea mom. Real tears came from his eyes even. What a boob.
In the middle of telling me to stop. He was so sad.

My dad's barbershop chorus...the Beehive Statesmen sang the national Anthem. They did a fantastic job. It was fun for my dad. He enjoys baseball games and so this was a big thrill. I video taped it....I may add it for my family's benefit.

We went to Priate Island in Orem for dinner. It just opened and it is a total blast with great food. We weren't able to stay long because we had to get to the game....we hope to go back for Parker's birthday dinner. (Note to Grandma and Grandpa Rowan.....you are invited to come to dinner with us to Pirate Island on September 15th...we'll talk to you about details soon.)
The pirate hat is the children's menu. After ordering your food...it becomes a fun photo op with mommy and son. This is my pirate face.

And this is Parker's. I told him to make a pirate face and this is what was captured. Silly stooge.

This is skull mountain. Through this hallway is the arcade and fun center. We got two tokens for just coming in and with the tickets he won playing two games...he got three pirate stickers. One is already attached to his bike.
The whole place is decked out ...there is a pirate ship inside with cannons and a plank. There is a skeleton pirate that sits on the plank and talks once in a while. They shoot the cannons and smoke comes out. You can see here in the picture a man dressed like a pirate. All the staff and servers are pirates or deck hands. They even talk like pirates. They have a play land with slides and such. They have private rooms for parties. They have a 24" pizza for 35.00 bucks. CRAZY! The pizza was yummy. There is also a stage set up.....I don't know if that is for shows that they put on or what. We didn't see anything of the sort....but it just barely opened.
The hallway that leads you to the restrooms.....is spooky! And then there is a gift shop as you exit. Super fun place.
For you locals....it is located in the old University Mall Theaters!

July and August have been busy. Ryan's brother and sister and families came to visit and there were tons of activities. Parker loved getting to know his cousins better. On my side of the family....there are no cousins close to his age. About 4+ years each way. He is the second oldest of this bunch. I could help but take this picture. Seeing my kids playing together. 5 short years ago I would have told you you were crazy to think this could happen. It's a joyous sight for me to see. Penny loves her big brother....and he loves her.

She loves bath time. Parker always did too. She kicks her legs so much......the kitchen and I are soaked by the time we are finished. She loves to splash.
She is enjoying solid food very much. There isn't anything she won't eat. She loves to play little games and sing songs with us. I am having tons of fun. She rolls all over the place making laps around the living room trying to find toys or get close to Parker. Or she is on the hunt for the cats. The cats make her giggle.
I was able to go to Grantsville last Saturday and go to a Ukiah, CA reunion. So...anyone and everyone that was a part of 1st or 2nd ward is invited. It was fun to see past teachers, leaders and friends and parents of friends and children of friends. I didn't feel good at all, but still had fun seeing everyone that was there and showing off my kids.
Sunday was another horrible day of not feeling well. I have had some stress lately that has caused a flare up and emotional roller coaster mood swings. I was able to get some sleep Sunday which helped a lot.
This week I am going to a movie with a girlfriend. It is much needed. I am so excited.

This video is just a cute showing of her favorite toy. It's amazing how much stronger and how much bigger she has gotten since we got it...which was only a couple of month ago. She really goes to town. She loves it. And the more we laugh and respond to her...the harder she bounces and twists. It's fun.

This week was Penny's 6 month check up. She is still 10 and 15 percentile in weight and height. I obviously just make small babies because this girl eats .....literally out of house and home. The doctor for some reason was real specific about us not starting her on solid food until 6 months. So....this week...she tried out green beans and peas. LOVES THEM! She has polished 2 full jars off since Tuesday afternoon. I even added some cereal to the beans one day and she gobbled it down. She's so funny about eating. She will only open her mouth to eat if she can put her hands on the spoon handle and shove it in herself. I like it! She has also started doing 6 oz bottles....so for crying out loud...I go through formula fast. Next week we will start on orange veggies and then on to fruits. She is a happy girl. She had to get some shots at her appointment, so she got a little bit of a fever yesterday. She slept a ton. It was so nice. She feels much better now. Parker has been pretty bored. I haven't been doing well this week, so I don't take him outside or play with him much. His friend has come over a couple of times, so that has helped. My body just wants to sleep all the time and I can't seem to recover. I'm not doing my meds like I should,so some of it is my fault. The injections aren't fun, so I don't remind Ryan to get it ready for me. My fault.
One of Ryan's co-workers gave us this dress for Penny when she was born. I have waited patiently for 6 months for her to be able to wear it. It's so darling and suits her personality so well. She was a pretty girl for church on Sunday
This is my new favorite sight. When I go to get her from her nap....I say, "PEEK!" And this cute little head pops up with this gorgeous eyes looking at me. Makes me giggle. Makes her giggle too.
I'm very down today. I don't know what my deal is. Maybe the humidity and heat. Maybe the rut I'm in....the weight I'm gaining and can't lose.....the heat again....the fact that my living room carpet needs to be washed and steam cleaned and I have no energy to do it.....sad that my flowers I planted in my front garden aren't doing well.
On the up side....my garden is doing awesome. We have 4-5 pumpkins growing and counting. I have tons of tomatoes just about to turn red. I've already harvested 3 cucumbers with 3 ready to pick today. I have tons of jalepenos. We enjoyed an orange pepper in a toss salad the other night...so yummy and sweet. My onions and carrots are growing nicely...and I found two praying mantises in the garden....that makes me happy that they are taking care of the pesky bugs that eat my veggies.
The grasshoppers are getting me down. There are tons of them....and two giant ones have taken over my screen door and they won't leave. I tried taking the hose to them....but they came back. So now..they are just part of the family.
